Appe or appam are most popular South India breakfast dish made (usually) from fermented rice and urad daal (black gram lentils). Here I have used Suji (semolina) instead. Appe are cooked in special mold pan and can be savory or sweet in taste. To suji mix, onions, spices, veggies and herbs are added and shallow fried in special pan. Their crunchy outside texture and soft and pillowed inside makes for a perfect bite every time. Opt for these instant rava appe and shave off the fermentation waiting time. Serve them with sambhar, coconut chutney or chutney of your choice and enjoy them for breakfast or have then as snacks.
